My last Shakespearean hurrah

Last Monday (the 6th), I went on a field trip with my Shakespeare class to The Globe. Obviously, this isn't the original. This is the third version, which was built in the 90s. It's supposed to be a pretty accurate representation of what it actually looked like, though there is some debate about the artwork along the seats on the inside. There was some construction going on inside to build the sets for their first play of the season, Romeo and Juliet. The Globe only has plays during the summer (because it's an open theater with no roof), so R&J won't start showing until the end of April.

We walked over the Millennium Bridge to get there (it's on the other side of the Thames), which I just found out is going to be playing a bridge that collapses in the sixth Harry Potter movie. That's kind of exciting because I was just watching the first Harry Potter movie for the first time in a few years and it was so fun to get to say, "I've been there! And there! And there!"

Also, on a side note, while I was planning what to do this weekend, I looked into St. James' Park and realized I'd already been there, but thought it was something else. That's the park I walked through to go to Buckhingham Palace. I never posted a pic of it:
